What’s the difference between Mt. Airy CDC and Go Mt. Airy?

Answer: Mt. Airy CDC (Mt. Airy Community Development Corporation) is the parent organization with four core program areas: Housing Counseling & Financial Literacy; Business Services; Community Programs; and Real Estate Development. Go Mt. Airy is a promotional initiative launched in 2012 to support the Go Mt. Airy Business Association and our partner organizations in Mt. Airy. As such, we use @GoMtAiry as our social media handle.

What happened to Mt. Airy USA?

Answer: Mt. Airy USA was the name of the organization from 1997 through 2018. From 1980 to 1997, it was Mt. Airy Village Development Corporation. In 2019, we changed it to Mt. Airy Community Development Corporation (Mt. Airy CDC), an almost full-circle return to our roots.

What is the reach of the Go Mt. Airy platforms?

Answer: As of December 2020, our Facebook has over 10,200 followers, our Instagram has over 6,600 followers, our Twitter has over 2,350, and our twice-monthly Go Mt. Airy newsletter has over 3,900 opt-in subscribers.
