Celebrating Sisterhood Presents SHE SHINES Conference at New Covenant Church of Philadelphia, 7500 Germantown Avenue, in Mt. Airy has emerged as Philadelphia’s premier annual women’s conference focusing on empowering, inspiring and offering hope and opportunities by engaging women, particularly women of color who are disenfranchised and disproportionately represented in various sectors. The focus of this women’s empowerment conference is a foundation of comprehensive topics — Civic Engagement/Voting Rights, Health/Wellness/Safety, Spiritual Enrichment & Networking Opportunities. The main overall goals are to heighten women’s awareness about civic engagement by empowering and mobilizing women to collectively use and exercise their power, voice, and voting rights. The organization also educates and provides health and self-care resources. In addition to workshops, the She Shines Conference includes:
– A Vendors/Resource Information Marketplace throughout the day supporting Black businesses, especially female entrepreneurs.
– Healthcare and mental health screenings
– Easy access and conversations with healthcare providers
– A relaxation-massage area.
