Foreclosure Prevention

Mt. Airy CDC’s Housing Counseling department works every day to help homeowners facing foreclosure find a solution that keeps them in their homes. In recent years, because of the national foreclosure crisis, Mt. Airy CDC’s counselors have made this service a priority. The department has helped more than 3,500 low- and moderate-income families avoid foreclosure.

Our counselors work directly with the homeowner’s lender to reach an agreement that will keep the family in their home and prevent foreclosure. These efforts have both aided families and led to significant increases in preserved property values and property tax revenues to the City and School District of Philadelphia. In addition to helping individuals and families, the counselors work closely with City, State, and Federal governments to increase awareness for solutions to the foreclosure crisis.

Our housing counselors are ready to assist clients in resolving any issue. The priority is to educate and empower the client to be self-sufficient in the future.
