Friends and neighbors:

On Monday, March 16th, Mayor Kenney ordered all ‘nonessential’ businesses in Philadelphia to close; Governor Wolf did the same for businesses across the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. The City of Philadelphia and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania are working as we speak to create grants and loan programs to get businesses through. But what they’ll need most, and most immediately, is cash.

To that end, Mt. Airy CDC and the Go Mt. Airy Business Association have set up a COVID-19 Business Relief Fund. We are asking neighbors and people who support local business to contribute any amount possible; there is nothing too big or too small. Visit the fund and make a donation HERE: www.mtairycdc.org/covid19relief

As money comes in, we will allocate it promptly to businesses based on the requests our committee has reviewed and approved.  While we cannot *guarantee* funding, we are working to do our best. We are hoping that, with enough support, we will be able to alleviate some of the burden for as many business owners as possible.

When you contribute, you will be added to an email list to receive updates on which businesses you supported through your contributions.

As the managers of the Go Mt. Airy Business Association – and especially as neighbors and residents who put our money where our mouth is and support local businesses with our dollars, promotion, and business resources – we understand what a blow the pandemic response is to these local businesses. While we firmly believe that the only way to minimize the economic pain is to minimize the threat of the further spread of COVID-19, we recognize that employees, employers, and the people who depend on them must change their way of life for the foreseeable future and find new ways to make ends meet.

Please consider supporting the businesses you already love: www.mtairycdc.org/covid19relief
