Mt. Airy CDC is calling local artists, graphic designers, and creatives to help design this year’s Go Mt. Airy merch. The theme is Mt. Airy 250 for the role our dynamic neighborhood plays within the greater city as we celebrate 250 years since the nation’s founding – and the 250 years of richly layered history right here in the Northwest.
The winning design will be rooted in Mt. Airy culture and showcase the beauty to be found here – whether in our historic architecture, our green spaces, or our diverse population.
Annually released Go Mt. Airy t-shirts are a long-standing tradition in the community, and your design could be worn by neighbors for years to come!
We invite adult artists age 18+ years to submit a draft or sketch design by March 31, 2026. The winning artist will work with Mt. Airy CDC to create a final design, and will receive an honorarium of $250 in addition to community-wide recognition during 2026 via our social media, website, and newsletter.
Children ages 5-17 are also invited to submit their designs for child-sized merch, also by March 31, 2026. The winning child artist will receive a $25 honorarium as well as a certificate of achievement presented at their school and a free t-shirt with their winning design.
